Ensuring the future of our community
Community Giving Foundation: Selinsgrove aims to enrich the quality of life in the Selinsgrove area and surrounding communities through superior stewardship of enduring charitable gifts. After affiliating with the Community Giving Foundation in 2006, Selinsgrove has continued to assist and encourage donors of all levels to achieve their diverse philanthropic interests while providing a legacy that will serve local communities for present and future generations.
A Story of Local Giving
Music has always been an important part of life for the Rudnitsky family, and three generations have participated in the Susquehanna Valley Chorale. In support of this program and its local impact, the Rudnitsky family turned their music passion into an opportunity to support local college students pursuing voice studies. They created theRudnitsky Susquehanna Valley Chorale Tenor 1 Fund to provide a scholarship for local student singers.
"The concept of providing a scholarship to local students became a reality that does a lot of good. We want to help make sure that the funds to provide this opportunity will always be there." (Marv & Raven Rudnitsky)

Grant Impact
Community Giving Foundation: Selinsgrove makes grant investments to support a number of community needs and initiatives. During their 2024 competitive grant round, the group awarded $34,900 in grants through the Selinsgrove Unrestricted Fund and other individual and family funds. Over $35,000 is provided annually in scholarships to support students continuing their education.
Selinsgrove's History
In 1994, members of the Selinsgrove Rotary Club joined together to begin the Selinsgrove Area Youth Foundation, which focused on providing scholarships to graduating seniors at Selinsgrove High School. Building on its success, the group voted to expand its mission in 2010 to support the local community through philanthropic efforts. Under the umbrella of a community foundation, Selinsgrove continued to provide scholarships while also meeting the area's social, educational, recreational, and charitable needs.
The Foundation affiliated with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation (now Community Giving Foundation) in 2006 and awarded $24,000 in local grants that same year. Today, Community Giving Foundation: Selinsgrove continues to assist and encourage donors of all levels to achieve their diverse philanthropic interests to support the community for present and future generations.
