Community Giving Foundation: Bloomsburg was established in 1996, and affiliated with the Community Giving Foundation in 2018. Its unrestricted endowment fund provides charitable support to nonprofit and government agencies for the benefit of the Bloomsburg area.
The Alex Wagner's Football Fund honors the memory of Alex Charles Wagner, 23, who passed away suddenly at his home in August 2021. Alex was a graduate of Central Columbia High School, where he loved serving as the equipment manager for the Blue Jay's football team. Alex's fund will provide charitable grants to the Central Columbia School District to support Centra's Football Team with equipment and supplies that benefit player safety, learning and experience. Alex loved his family more than anything. He would help anyone do anything and do so with diligence. Alex's life was not always easy, but he was resilient. He was and always will be loved beyond measure.
The BASD Panther Fund is a non-endowed fund that supports charitable purposes for the benefit of the Bloomsburg Area School District, including but not limited to educational facilities, athletic facilities and other general programs and projects.
The BASD Post-Secondary Educational Endowment Fund supports charitable purposes to increase educational opportunities for Bloomsburg Area School District students through access to post-secondary programming and associated tuition support.
The Hartman / Robbins / Stroup Fund provides charitable grants to nonprofit agencies offering heating and electric utility assistance to residents of the Town of Bloomsburg municipality.
The BHS Class of '86 Scholarship Fund will provide annual scholarship(s) to Bloomsburg High School graduating seniors pursuing post-secondary education. Students must demonstrate kindness and loyalty to others, ability to get along with others without prejudice, and genuine school spirit and Panther pride.
The Bloomsburg Greek Alumni Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to full-time students enrolled at Bloomsburg University who have earned at least 12 credits with a minimum 2.5 GPA and have demonstrated outstanding community service and leadership. Preference will be given to students participating in a Greek organization or who are children of Bloomsburg Greek alumni. Financial need will also be considered.
Bill and Pat Lynch turned their interest in social studies and strong foundation from Central Columbia High School into rewarding and meaningful careers in public service and education. The brothers appreciated learning from the teachers they had while at Central, complimenting the school’s unique combination of social studies courses. As a way to give back to the community, they established the Lynch Brothers Scholarship Fund to carry on a legacy of learning and reward the top social studies students at Central.
