The Community Giving Foundation: Danville is pleased to announce a new donor advised fund created by Aidan McDonald, a local young professional motivated to actively participate in community giving in the Danville area.
McDonald has spent several years working for DRIVE, a five-county council of governments devoted to supporting economic development in the region. While his professional life largely revolves around building stronger communities in the Susquehanna Valley, McDonald knew he wanted to continue this work in a personal capacity as well. After discussions with a friend and colleague, he realized that a partnership with the Foundation could help him make a difference. Foundation funds can start at only $500, allowing younger donors like McDonald the chance to get involved in local community giving early.
“While I certainly could have waited until later, I was motivated to set up a fund now so I can be an active participant in my own philanthropy throughout my life and career,” explained McDonald.
McDonald was attracted to the donor advised fund option because it gave him the flexibility to be directly involved in grantmaking. Year to year, he can select which organizations to support in order to create the largest community impact. The Aidan McDonald Donor Advised Fund will provide grants for charitable purposes in Danville and surrounding communities forever.
“As a younger donor, I want to be able to leverage my giving to do the most good. By engaging in thoughtful, disciplined giving throughout my lifetime, I can maximize and focus my impact in the community.”
Contributions can be made to the Aidan McDonald Fund online here or mail to the Community Giving Foundation, Attn: Aidan McDonald Fund, 725 West Front Street, Berwick PA 18603. You can tell your community giving story by giving to a fund at the Foundation. It’s a wonderful way to honor a person or business or carry on the memory of someone important to you. Leave your own legacy of giving.
Danville is an affiliate of the Community Giving Foundation, which manages over 320 charitable funds and makes grant investments throughout the region to improve the quality of life in the Central Susquehanna area.
