October 21, 2021
The Holiday Happenings committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 event due to the surge in COVID cases in the community, with the safety of guests and the community as a top concern. Reimbursements for ticket sales will be distributed and sponsors will be contacted soon.
The committee is already planning next year’s Holiday Happenings event for Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Pine Barn Inn. Mark your calendars for an evening of celebration and socializing while benefitting current needs in our community. More information about the 2022 event will be shared in the spring.
As previously announced, Michael and Joanne Benjamin are the next recipients of the Robert N. Pursel Award for Community Service. The Benjamins will be honored at the 2022 event for their commitment to the Danville community and their leadership, dedication, and extensive work with local organizations like the American Red Cross, Geisinger Hospice, Shiloh United Church of Christ, and Boy Scouts of America.
Through partnership with the Community Giving Foundation: Danville, proceeds from Holiday Happenings benefit the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund to meet current needs in the Danville community. Donations are accepted year-round for this fund online here or by mail to the Community Giving Foundation.
Danville is an affiliate of the Community Giving Foundation, which manages over 300 charitable funds and makes grant investments throughout the region to improve the quality of life in the Central Susquehanna area.
