Berwick Teen Center YAB

25 Stories for 25 Years

The Berwick Teen Center’s Youth Action Board is a group of local teen leaders who serve as goodwill ambassadors for change in the region. The Teen Center is organized by For the Cause, a nonprofit that empowers young leaders and catalyzes community revitalization to create a region where people thrive. Their drop-in teen centers have proved to be an important resource in the community.

“The Berwick Teen Center is an important part of the community because it provides a safe place for teens to hang out and grow in their interests. The activities there encourage teens to express themselves in a safe environment.” (Camila Amaya, YAB Vice President)

As the Youth Action Board grew and developed in the Berwick community, working with For the Cause directors to bring the goals of the Teen Center to life, the group saw an opportunity to serve their community on a larger scale. Together, they established the Berwick Teen Center Youth Action Board Fund to ensure their mission and legacy impacts the community long into the future.

“My favorite part about being on the Youth Action Board is working with my peers and bonding with them over our shared goals of helping our community and creating a space where teens want to express themselves. Working with YAB has created so many friendships that I will love and cherish forever.” (Ava Peters, YAB President)

For the Cause knows its success for future generations is only possible through the inspiring work of youth leaders today. Danielle Pearson, Director of Youth Engagement, explains, “Watching the journey of dedication and resiliency undertaken by the Youth Action Board members, both past and present, fills me with pride. Their tireless efforts, spanning years, have now blossomed into this amazing achievement. Witnessing their generosity and passion for enriching our community transform into the establishment of this endowment is truly inspirational.”
