Family Establishes Fund to Support Chorale Scholarship

February 13, 2024

Community Giving Foundation: Selinsgrove is excited to announce the creation of the Rudnitsky Susquehanna Valley Chorale Tenor 1 Fund.

Music has always been an important part of life for the Rudnitsky Family. Marv began singing in the Susquehanna Valley Chorale in 1974 and is still part of the Tenor 1 section today. While singing in the Chorale brought great joy to Marv, it was even sweeter when his daughter became the youngest member of the group at age 14. Amy continued to sing with the Soprano 1 section, was a frequent soloist, and now serves as both a voice faculty member and director of the Susquehanna University Chorale. When granddaughter Maya began singing, opportunities arose for three generations of the family to participate together. Maya is currently a music education major at Penn State School of Music and sings with its most selective choir.

The Susquehanna Valley Chorale has been in existence for more than 50 years providing an exceptional addition to the culture of the community. In support of the program and its local impact, the Rudnitsky family turned their music passion into an opportunity to support local college students pursuing voice studies. Their fund provides a scholarship to a Tenor 1 singer with the Chorale each year.

Participating in the performance of the great works of choral music is a joyful experience. It was even better when my daughter and granddaughter joined the SVC. The concept of providing a scholarship to local students became a reality that does a lot of good. We want to help make sure that the funds to provide this opportunity will always be there,” explained Marv. “My wife, Raven, is the SVC’s greatest appreciator.
