Local Library Looks to Future with Endowment Fund

July 28, 2022

Community Giving Foundation is pleased to announce a new agency endowment fund created by the Orangeville Public Library to provide charitable support for its mission and vision.

The Orangeville Public Library strives to meet the informational, educational, recreational, and cultural interests and needs of Orangeville and surrounding communities by providing free access to print and non-print resources to residents. Resources include adult and children’s books, DVDs, audiobooks, public computers and WiFi access, children’s programming, and other special events. Membership at the Library is free of charge—regardless of residency—and is only made possible through the generous support of Library patrons, donors, and community partners.

“The Library remains committed to creating an enriching and welcoming place for everyone. Because we are not state-funded, we heavily rely on community support through our fundraisers and monetary donations. We have been serving the community for over 90 years because of the partners that have come alongside us,” explains Pam Simpson, librarian.

Through the forethought and stewardship of its Board of Directors, the Library created the Orangeville Public Library Agency Endowment Fund as another way for the community to support the longevity of the organization. The fund will forever benefit the future growth of Library services in the area and also provide donors a way to easily include the Library in their estate and planned giving.

Simpson writes, “The future is bright for our Library! We are thrilled to be able to encourage a love of reading and lifelong learning in our community and are thankful for the partnerships that continue to grow and thrive. We look forward to offering our free programs and resources to our community for years to come.”
