Danville Highlights Giving Stories

June 28, 2022

The Community Giving Foundation: Danville held its annual event on June 28th to share stories of community giving and impact. The breakfast, held at the Pine Barn Inn, was an inspiring time of togetherness to celebrate the partnerships and dedication that make this philanthropic spirit thrive in the Danville area.

During the event, Danville board chair Bonnie Trump spoke about the feeling of community in the Danville area and the impact of the 95+ Danville funds created by donors who continue to invest in its well-being and future. A list of Danville funds and 2022 grant recipients were included in this year’s event handout. Bonnie closed, “Giving and kindness will never go out of style.” Foundation President/CEO Holly Morrison recognized the dedicated individuals that make up the Danville board and shared about the Community Giving Foundation’s renewed commitment to stewardship and relationship-building. Linda and Terry Brown told the story of creating their own testamentary fund at the Foundation, and the ways their legacy and love for Danville nonprofits will carry on through grants from the Linda and Terry Brown Designated Fund.

What’s your community giving story? What legacy of philanthropy do you want to leave in your community? Guests were prompted to consider these questions as everyone was given an opportunity to share their own giving story at their tables. Through special giving cards and the many resources compiled in the Foundation’s Giving Workbook, discovering your passions and philanthropic goals has never been easier. Learn more here.

The Foundation was inspired and uplifted by the stories and conversations that were shared. It is only through the unity of each donor, board member, nonprofit organizations, and community partner that we can continue to make a difference—For Good. For Ever.
