Foundation Receives National Accreditation

August 14, 2017

Central Susquehanna Community Foundation has recently been accredited with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations®—the highest standards for philanthropic excellence. We work to support the causes our community cares about, from education, health and wellness, self-sustainability, recreation and much more. National Standards says that we meet the most rigorous standards in philanthropy and is a promise to our community that we will continue to do this good work together, right here in the Central Susquehanna Region.

”This is a significant accomplishment. When people trust Central Susquehanna Community Foundation with a charitable bequest, to establish a fund, or set up an annuity, they do it knowing that we have met rigorous standards for donor services, investment management, grantmaking and administration.” (Kendra Aucker, Board Chair)

National Standards is not mandatory. We chose to go above and beyond by affirming our commitment to excellence and accountability. Our accreditation provides assurance that we have sound policies and practices in place. In short, it means we meet the highest standards for local giving. To receive accreditation with National Standards, Central Susquehanna Community Foundation submitted our policies and procedures to a rigorous review of 41 National Standards in six key areas of community foundation operations, including donor services, investment management, grantmaking and administration.

”We’ve always worked hard to do good in our region and that National Standards accreditation says our everyday practices are in order. It is excellent validation of the work we do on behalf of our donors and our community. We are a proven place to give.” (M. Holly Morrison, President and CEO)
