Community Giving Foundation is proud to announce the establishment of the Bloomsburg Children’s Museum Endowed and Non-Endowed Funds, honoring a legacy built by the community for more than four decades. Created to prepare for the Museum’s future, these distinct funds offer a way to invest in both long-term organizational stability and an exciting new regional expansion.
The Museum’s new endowed fund was generously seeded by the Friends of the Children’s Museum, a group whose multi-generational commitment reflects the spirit of care and stewardship that has sustained the organization. This fund creates a permanent source of support to ensure the Museum remains resilient, accessible, and responsive to families far into the future. Concurrently, the non-endowed fund was established to support a once-in-a-generation opportunity to expand the Museum’s physical space, grow its interactive exhibits, and increase educational programming to meet rising community demand.
“These funds represent both gratitude and momentum,” said Dr. Ginny Weibel, Executive Director. “We are grateful to the Friends of the Children’s Museum for helping seed an endowed fund that will support our mission for generations, and we are excited to offer donors a way to be part of our expansion. This is about building a stronger future for children and families across our region.”
While “Bloomsburg” is in the name, the Museum serves as a learning hub, career exploration center, and trusted partner across a 15-county region—including many rural communities where access to STEM education and cultural experiences can be limited. To strengthen these regional resources, the Museum chose to partner with the Community Giving Foundation because of its deep commitment to local philanthropy and its trusted guidance in offering donors flexible, meaningful giving options. Contributions to these funds directly support vital accessibility initiatives that break down geographic and financial barriers—from reimbursed transportation for Title I schools and mobile outreach programs to free and discounted admission days, program scholarships, All Abilities Nights, and partnerships with Museums for All and Blue Star Families.
“Our hope is that every child who walks through our doors or meets us through an outreach program feels seen, capable, curious, and inspired. These funds represent a shared responsibility, vision, and belief in the potential of our children—a community investment that creates opportunity and makes learning possible for everyone,” noted Weibel.
