At the Community Giving Foundation, our mission is powered by local people—the individuals, families, and businesses whose generosity fuels meaningful change right where we live. Nonprofits fill in the gaps for our communities, showing up for those in need and providing urgent, sometimes life-saving services every single day. We have all experienced the benefits of these programs and resources—from food banks to clothing giveaways, after-school activities to art displays, affordable transportation to childcare services, and so much more. Nonprofits meet real needs in real time, right in our own neighborhoods.
Our communities thrive when nonprofits succeed. As dedicated nonprofit staff and volunteers show up for us, it’s our responsibility and honor to show up for them. Supporting local nonprofits isn’t just about giving today—it’s about building a better future for all of us, together.
December 2nd is Giving Tuesday, a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of generosity. We believe “community giving” is about connection, compassion, and creating lasting change. Whether you donate your money, time, resources, or the power of your voice in your community, we hope you will consider supporting nonprofits doing impactful work in our region.
Here are some ideas for Giving Tuesday (or any time of year):
- Find a nonprofit that resonates with you. Consider sharing about their work on social media to spread awareness and opportunities for others to give.
- Reach out to a local nonprofit about donating your time—volunteers are a vital part of nonprofit operations.
- Make a monetary donation directly to a nonprofit today to support their community work.
- Many of our nonprofit partners have endowment funds at the Foundation to support their long-term sustainability and operations forever. To make a donation that’s future-minded, visit csgiving.org/donate and search the nonprofit name.
- Tell your giving story! Why do you give, volunteer, or advocate for nonprofits? Talking about your passions can inspire others to find theirs.
