Thank you to everyone who attended the Community Giving Foundation’s Annual Meeting on March 12th. What a wonderful time to celebrate a record-breaking year in community giving and the many board members, donors, and nonprofit partners who fuel our work and strengthen our communities.
During the meeting, Kara Seesholtz, Foundation President and CEO, reflected on the Foundation’s continued growth and renewed commitment to serve as a philanthropic resource for our stakeholders. She highlighted the work of our Impact Team and its data-driven focus to ensure the Foundation can respond to community needs, identify gaps, increase collaboration, and serve as a key leader in community solutions. Aligning these efforts and existing initiatives into a framework to support Foundation growth and community impact remains key as the Foundation embarks on a strategic plan this year.
Harry Mathias, Foundation Board Chair, shared a record-breaking 2024 year-in-review through the metaphor of a “no parking zone”, as the Foundation continues to innovate and grow while stewarding donor gifts for lasting community impact. Through the example of the late C.K. Battram and his trust in the Foundation to meet community needs in his name, Harry reflected on the many ways the Foundation partners with donors—both now and through planned gifts—to make a difference.
Continuing the meaningful tradition of table discussions at our Annual Meeting, the Foundation was honored to hear from guests about the unique aspects of our region, the local concerns that are top-of-mind in each community, and what truly connects us to each other. Hearing these diverse perspectives and insights remain vital in shaping the direction of our Foundation as we serve our region.
