Community Giving Foundation: Bloomsburg is pleased to welcome a new board member in 2026.
Jim McCann
Jim McCann is a financial advisor with Principal Securities. He graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BS in Business Administration/Accounting and began his investment and insurance career in 1982. McCann helps individuals with their financial security and advises corporate retirement plans and other employer-sponsored benefit programs. He has served as the board chair for Central Susquehanna Sight Services for the past ten years and also coached AYSO in Bloomsburg for twelve years.
“Local charitable giving and volunteerism is where community programs actually happen, where results are achieve and celebrated and the community thrives. I have seen the positive impact on numerous local nonprofits who have benefited tremendously from local support. Many would not survive without these donations and time given to their organizations,” McCann explains. “I am excited to be part of the Foundation board. I look forward to helping their mission to enhance the quality of life in the greater Bloomsburg community.”
