Sunbury Grants Meet Urgent Food Insecurity Needs

Community Giving Foundation embraces its responsibility as a community foundation to strengthen nonprofit partner organizations and services through flexible funding—meeting current needs today and unknown needs in the future. Community Giving Foundation: Sunbury recently allocated $10,000 in critical grants from the Sunbury Discretionary Fund to help respond to overwhelming food insecurity issues in the greater Sunbury area. Food assistance programs and local pantries were identified through existing nonprofit partnerships.

Grant recipients included:

  • Central Susquehanna Opportunities, Inc.—CSO Mobile Food Pantry in Sunbury, $2,000
  • Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA—Food Pantry, $2,000
  • Line Mountain Area Food Bank—Food Bank and Backpack Program, $2,000
  • Salvation Army, Sunbury—Food Assistance Program, $2,000
  • St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kate’s Kupboard—Food Assistance Program, $2,000
