Nominations Open for Danville’s 2026 “Neighbor of the Year” Award

December 15, 2025

Community Giving Foundation: Danville will host the annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Event on Saturday, April 11th at The Barn at Frosty Valley. The event brings together Danville neighbors to celebrate community growth and the difference we can make together. Proceeds from the event benefit the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund, which has awarded over $175,000 to support local nonprofit organizations providing vital services and programs in the greater Danville area.

Sponsorship opportunities for the event will be available in early 2026. Individual tickets will go on sale early-March.

The 2026 event committee is pleased to begin accepting nominations for the “Neighbor of the Year” Award, honoring an outstanding neighbor (individual, family, or business) that has exemplified a generous spirit of community service in the greater Danville area. The award is given in memory of Robert N. Pursel, a shining example of duty and philanthropy. Over its history, forty neighbors have been honored and celebrated for their dedication to our community’s growth and vitality. Chosen recipient(s) for 2026 will be honored at the April event.

To nominate a deserving neighbor, complete the form at csgiving.org/neighbors. The deadline for nominations is January 23, 2026. Questions can be directed to Danny Hess at [email protected].
