July 30, 2025
The Women’s Giving Circle of the Community Giving Foundation held its annual meeting on July 29th at the Pine Barn Inn in Danville. During the event, four finalists from the Circle’s competitive grant round presented their grant requests live, while members in attendance took an active role in the grantmaking process by voting for their topic choice. A total of $21,000 was awarded to the following grant recipients at the event:
- $10,000 grant recipient: The Gate House—The Bridge for Her
- $10,000 grant recipient: Winterspring Sanctuary—Equine-Assisted Mental Health for Women and Girls at The Women’s Center, Inc.
- $500 grant recipient: AGAPE—The W.I.N. Project (Women in Need)
- $500 grant recipient: Bloomsburg Children’s Museum—Hope Beyond the Basics: A Safe Haven for Healing, Learning, and Leading
Women’s Giving Circle members and Foundation staff also shared updates on engaging opportunities and an invitation to join in this collective community giving effort. New Steering Committee Officers were voted in by members to begin terms in January 2025, including Ellen Withrow (chair), Tiffany Bienkowski (vice-chair), and Albra Heineman (secretary). The group also welcomed representatives from Beyond Violence and Dwell Orphan Care—grant finalists from 2024—to share how Women’s Giving Circle grants have impacted the clients and communities they serve.
