Berwick Offering Healthy Workplace Grants

Community Giving Foundation: Berwick recognizes that nonprofit organizations continue to play a vital role in the well-being of our community. The Healthy Workplace Grant program was designed to encourage happy, healthy teams within nonprofit organizations. Grants can be used to purchase supplies/equipment, programming, professional development, and more to boost the mental and physical health of nonprofit teams. The goal of the application process is to encourage creative methods for increasing health and positivity in the office.

How to Apply

Berwick’s Healthy Workplace grant round will open on August 1st. Complete a short grant application through the Foundation’s grant website to apply. The application requires the following information:

  1. Organization Name
  2. Number of Employees
  3. Service Area
  4. Healthy Workplace Proposal: In 100 words or less, explain how you would use a one-time grant to promote the overall health of your office staff. Creativity is encouraged!
  5. Budget for Funding Request

Grants will be awarded up to $1,000. The application deadline is August 29th at 11:59pm online. Grant awards will be announced this fall.

All 501(c)(3) and government nonprofit organizations within the Berwick Health and Wellness Fund service area are eligible to apply, regardless of whether they have a current or pending grant with the Foundation. The Berwick Health and Wellness Fund service area includes:

  • Columbia County Boroughs: Berwick Borough, Benton Borough, Briar Creek Borough, Stillwater Borough
  • Columbia County Townships: Benton Township, Briar Creek Township, Fishing Creek Township, Mifflin Township, North Centre Township, and South Centre Township
  • Luzerne County Boroughs: Berwick Borough, Conyngham Borough, Nescopeck Borough, New Columbus Borough, and Shickshinny Borough
  • Luzerne County Townships: Butler Township, Conyngham Township, Hollenback Township, Hunlock Township, Huntington Township, Nescopeck Township, Salem Township, Sugarloaf Township, and Union Township
