Foundation Announces Communications Officer

Community Giving Foundation is pleased to announce that Katie Simpson will serve as Communications Officer, effective immediately. She previously served as the Foundation’s Communications & Events Associate.

As Communications Officer, Simpson will continue to develop and produce all internal and external communication for Foundation outreach, donor stewardship, digital media, and philanthropic resources. Through collaboration with staff and boards, her oversight will ensure communication is strategic and meaningful for all audiences while maintaining consistent brand messaging and focus on personalized philanthropy opportunities. She will continue to manage all Foundation and affiliate event planning and logistics to emphasize and promote community giving stories across the region.

Simpson grew up in Bloomsburg and is passionate about supporting the local community and the organizations that make it thrive. Prior to joining the Foundation in early 2019, she served in nonprofit development and communication roles in the Bloomsburg and Philadelphia areas. Simpson received a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Eastern University and is a Leadership Central Penn 2020 graduate. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration degree.

Foundation staff members work together to offer personalized opportunities for donors to tell their community giving story. Current staff includes: Holly Morrison, D.Ed., President and CEO; Kara G. Seesholtz, incoming President and CEO; Al Meale, Chief Financial Officer; Christine Orlando, Director of Philanthropy; Eric Pangelinan, Program Officer; Katie Simpson; Communications Officer; Karri Harter, Program Associate; Shelli Sarge, Operations Assistant; and Kim Groshek, Administrative Assistant.

The Community Giving Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that develops, manages, and distributes funds for charitable purposes in communities across the Central Susquehanna region.
