Foundation Partners with Leadership Central Penn to Sponsor Program Scholarship

May 18, 2021

Community Giving Foundation, in partnership with Leadership Central Penn (LCP), is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for nonprofit organizations to participate in the LCP 2021-2022 program. This opportunity is funded by Danville’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund and Berwick’s Berwick Health and Wellness Fund. The application process begins now and ends July 16, 2021.

The Foundation is dedicated to supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit and governmental organizations within the Columbia and Montour Counties area through this opportunity. The scholarship seeks to promote professional development for employees of nonprofit organizations.

The Foundation of the Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce hosts Leadership Central Penn, a nine month leadership program with a cohort of aspiring leaders representing multiple genres of professionals. The objectives of this course are to provide professional development on capacity building skills including organizational leadership, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, leading change and more. Additionally, community-based topics include providing an understanding of services available in our area, workforce and economic development, the state of education, local government, healthcare, and learning about volunteer opportunities in our community.

According to Jeffrey Emanuel, Director of LCP, “If you’re looking for a quote that embodies LCP look to John Quincy Adams’ statement: ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader’.”

If you are interested in completing an application to attend the Leadership Central Penn program beginning in the fall of 2021, please visit the LCP website. Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit and governmental organizations are eligible to apply for this scholarship opportunity. Scholarship requests must be submitted by July 16, 2021.
