Danville Foundation Awards 2020 Scholarships

The Danville Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce scholarship awards for local students. These opportunities are available thanks to the many individuals, families, and organizations who have established 32 scholarship funds with the Foundation. Applications for a variety of interests, accomplishments and career choices were accepted from students at the school district. These funds awarded over $103,000 in scholarships to more than 55 Danville graduating seniors.

The following students received scholarship awards:

  • Amacher Family Fund in Memory of Mary Shick Frye: Morgan Clemens ($1,900)
  • Beverly J. Laubach Scholarship Fund in Memory of Betty L. Deitz: Kevin Palm ($500)
  • Block-Selinger Educational Fund: Nicholas Cera ($2,400, multi-year award), Morgan Everett ($2,400, multi-year award), and $2,400 to six previous graduates
  • Carl J. Marrara Memorial Scholarship Fund: Peter Amarante ($1,000)
  • Cole Family Scholarship Fund: Linae Williams ($5,900)
  • Cotner Family Scholarship Fund: Makenzee Povish ($2,100)
  • Danville Area SD Alumni Association Scholarship Fund: Anna Tessarvich ($600), Jacob Smedley ($600)
  • Danville Area School District Band Boosters Scholarship Fund: Kevin Palm ($450), Joseph La Marca ($450)
  • Danville Education Association Scholarship Fund “DEA”: Brittney Toborg ($600)
  • Danville High School Class of 1939 Scholarship Fund: Elijah Henning ($871), Katie Miller ($871), Emma Mikita ($871), Leena Wardeh ($871), Erin Donahue ($871), Chloe Renno ($871), Brandi Sassaman ($871)
  • Danville High School Class of 1943 Scholarship Fund: Tresa Savidge ($500)
  • Danville High School Class of 1963 Scholarship Fund: Nicole Tray ($600)
  • Danville Rotary Scholarship Fund: Kylee Cush ($400)
  • Danville Unrestricted Fund (in Memory of Eleanor Burke): Hope Mullery ($1,000)
  • Deutsch Family Memorial Scholarship Fund: Hannah Kipple ($1,900)
  • Donald J. Seebold Scholarship Fund: Olivia Huron ($2,600), Megan Fitzpatrick ($2,600)
  • Eister Janssen Scholarship Fund: Het Patel ($1,000)
  • Gerald J. Levandoski Memorial Scholarship Fund: Michel Vanden Heuval ($1,200)
  • Jack Curry Athletic Scholarship Fund: Emily Heath ($1,300)
  • Jane Hood Memorial Scholarship Fund: Paige Kupas ($2,600), Madelyn Rarig ($2,600)
  • Jason Gordon Memorial Scholarship Fund: Kylee Cush (4500), Mitchell Vanden Heuval ($500)
  • Joanne McCall Spaide Simington and Paul Simington Scholarship Fund: Mara Shuck ($2,000)
  • Ken and Pat Ackerman Family Scholarship Fund: Michael Cook-Stahl ($1,500), Trey Miller ($1,500), Colton Silder ($1,500)
  • Mackenzie E. Riley Memorial Scholarship Fund: Linae Williams ($335), Hannah Kipple ($335)
  • Mollie Harter Memorial Fund: Hunter Horne ($500)
  • Rechsteiner Family Scholarship Fund: Samuel Betz ($1,687.50, multi-year award), Britney Toborg ($1,687.50, multi-year award), and $1,678.50 to six previous graduates
  • Ronald J. Kanaskie Leadership Scholarship Fund: Michael Cook-Stahl ($1,000), Caden Mutchler ($1,000)
