Youth in Philanthropy

Empowering next-gen philanthropists

Organized into groups led by faculty liaisons, students gain experience in teamwork, community needs assessments, consensus building, and nonprofit finances and operations.

How it works

A student-led grant program

The Youth in Philanthropy program provides local high school students with an opportunity to learn about philanthropy and participate in the grantmaking process.

Program participants

A year of research and discussion across the region.

Youth in Philanthropy meets twice per academic year for day-long workshops hosted by the Community Giving Foundation, followed by a grant presentation ceremony every April. School groups meet monthly to research and discuss community needs.

Get involved

Invest in student philanthropy

Students who participate in Youth in Philanthropy learn about the power of community-focused giving. It’s not theoretical, either; they award real money to local nonprofits.
