Legacy Society

A lasting commitment to your local community

Through the Community Giving Foundation, it’s simple for you to establish meaningful impact through a planned gift to a current fund or your own named fund.

About

Joining our Legacy Society only requires a thoughtful intention to make a lasting commitment to your community for the future.

Would you name a fund in memory or honor of your family or someone close to you? What organization, cause, or passion would you support? What is your story?

An Opportunity for Pennsylvania

A Transfer of Wealth Study prepared by The Center for Rural Pennsylvania estimates $418 billion will be transferred from one generation to the next in the next ten years. (See an interactive county breakout of the data here.) This study shows an incredible opportunity to legacy gifts to generate nearly $21 billion for Pennsylvania nonprofits in the next decade.

Join the Legacy Society

The Community Giving Foundation’s Legacy Society is made up of individuals who have included the Foundation in their estate plans. Legacy planning:

  • Is flexible and can be done through a number of giving vehicles, including bequests, outright gifts, or life insurance and retirement plan beneficiary designations.
  • Allows you to give a planned gift to an existing fund or create a new fund in your name to support your charitable interests.
  • Ensures that funds for nonprofit organizations close to your heart benefit perpetually.
  • Instills family philanthropic values.

To become a member of the Legacy Society, all you need to do is share this important decision with us by completing a simple form. For more information on partnering with the Foundation for your planned giving, Contact Alyssa Meyers-Sanonu, Director of Philanthropy, at 570-752-3930 ext. 3 or ameyers-sanonu@csgiving.org.
