Ensuring the future of our community
The Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation is dedicated to the enrichment of the quality of life in the Selinsgrove area and surrounding communities through superior stewardship of enduring charitable gifts. The Foundation exists to assist and encourage donors of all levels to achieve their diverse philanthropic interests while providing a legacy that will serve the communities for present and future generations.
The Foundation began in 1994 by members of the Selinsgrove Rotary Club. It was originally known as the Selinsgrove Area Youth Foundation due to its limited focus on providing scholarships to graduating seniors at Selinsgrove High School. In the years since its beginning, the Foundation has grown and expanded its mission to include a broader base of needs for not only Selinsgrove but also the surrounding communities. The Foundation affiliated with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation in 2006 for administrative support for their grant and scholarship investments.
A community foundation offers a powerful and highly personal approach to charitable giving. No matter what your charitable interest, we can help you make a charitable gift or establish your own named charitable fund, with just about any type of asset, to make a lasting impact on your community. Please contact the CSCF staff or a Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation board member to discuss how you can partner with your local community foundation to make a difference in the Selinsgrove area.
“Community is what we are all about. Reaching $1 million in assets shows what it means to be community focused and how the Foundation is making a difference in the lives of Selinsgrove area residents.” “We are grateful for donors and fundholders who support our mission, which is ensuring the future of the Selinsgrove area.” (Heather Rowe, Selinsgrove board chair)
The Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation recently awarded over $10,000 to local non-profits during its competitive grantround. Grantees, fundholders, please see press release.
