Kendra A. Aucker, Chair

Kendra is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Evangelical Community Hospital located in Lewisburg. After receiving her foundation from the Selinsgrove School District, Kendra obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Penn State University and then her MBA from Frederick Taylor University in California. She is currently a Healthcare Fellow of the Healthcare Advisory Board, is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a member of the Medical Group Management Association. Kendra is on the Board of WITF, Harrisburg; Member and Past President of the Selinsgrove Rotary; Sigmund Weis School of Business Partner, Susquehanna University; and Board Member of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. Recently she had been a Board Member and Past President of the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way; Former Board Member and Scholarship Chair of the Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation; and Board Member and Past President of Leadership Susquehanna Valley. She has been honored with the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Susquehanna Council of Boy Scouts of America, 2012; Athena Award Finalist for the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce; Leadership Susquehanna Valley Distinguished Leadership Alumni Award recipient, 2006; and Volunteer of the Year, 2005, Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way. Kendra was appointed to the Board of Directors for Central Susquehanna Community Foundation in 2010 and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Board. Kendra resides in Lewisburg and has two daughters.

John Parker, Vice Chair

John is a retired administrator for the Berwick Area School District where he served many years as a principal both in the High School and Middle School. After getting his foundation from the Berwick Area School District, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Bloomsburg State College followed by a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Master of Science degree in Guidance from the University of Scranton. He is president of the Board for Big Brother/Big Sisters of Columbia County and the Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School Authority Board. John has previously served as Co-Chair of the Berwick Area United Way Campaign. He is a member of the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church and president of the Church Council. He joined the Central Susquehanna Community Board in 2010 and currently serves as the Vice Chair. In addition, he serves as Chair of the Berwick Health and Wellness Advisory Committee. John resides in Berwick with wife Beverly where they raised their family.

JoAnn M. Ferentz, Secretary

JoAnn is a Certified Public Accountant at Snyder and Clemente located in Sugarloaf.  After receiving her foundation from the Southern Columbia School District, she graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting - Cum Laude.  She is a member of the AICPA and the PICPA.  She serves as a board member for the nonprofit organization—For the Cause.  She was appointed to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation in 2015 and currently serves as the secretary for the Board.  In addition, she is also a member of the Berwick Health and Wellness Advisory Committee. JoAnn resides in Berwick with husband Roland and her family.

John E. Definnis D.D.S., Treasurer

Dr. DeFinnis is the president of Berwick Dental Arts, Inc., located in Berwick which he began in 1970.  Receiving his foundation from the Berwick Area School District, he then graduated with his D.D.S. from Temple University. He served in the US Army as a Commissioned Captain from 1968-1970.   He is the Past Director of the Berwick Jaycees; Past President and member of the Berwick YMCA Board and now a Trustee of the YMCA Board; Past President and current member of the Salvation Army Board for over 30 years; and Twice Past President and member of Berwick UNICO.  John served as the first chairman of the Berwick Retirement Village Board; Served on the Berwick Hospital Board for 35 years and as President for the last 11 years.  He also served on the task force of the hospital which negotiated the sale of our hospital (the first sale of a not for profit hospital to a for profit, Community Health Systems, in the State of PA).  He was an original board member and past president of the Berwick Health and Wellness Foundation.  He is a board member of the Columbia County Industrial Development Authority and Past President of the Berwick Industrial Development Association; Past President and Executive Board member of the Columbia-Montour Council of Boy Scouts of America; Past Advisory Board member of the Franklin First Savings Bank; Past President and member of the Octagonal Investment Club; Member of the Knapp Lodge No. 462 F&M Masons; Member of the Bower Memorial United Methodist Church; Member of the State Board of Dentistry.  He was reinstated for another 8-year term to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation in 2010 and serves as Treasurer.  He lends his expertise on the Finance Committee where he serves as Chair, the audit and development committees.  He has received the Distinguished Citizen Award in 1999 from the Boy Scouts of America; the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America in 2001 and in 2007 the Berwick Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen Award. He has been married 50 years to his high school friend, Janice, and they raised their family in Berwick. 

Robert L. Albertson, O.D.

Dr. Albertson is an Optometrist and is the owner of the Albertson Eye Care Center. After receiving his foundation from the Berwick Area School District, he attended Juniata College and obtained his bachelor’s degree.  He then attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL and graduated cum laude with his doctorate in optometry.  Bob serves on the American Optometric Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Susquehanna Sight Services.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Illinois College of Optometry.  He is a member of the Leadership Circle and the National Glaucoma Society. Participation in community organizations include the Berwick Lions Club where he served as past President and District Officer.  He also served as the Sight Conservation Chairman. Dr. Albertson has been awarded the Optometrist of the Year from the Optometric Association.  Bob was recently appointed to serve as a Director for the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation.  He will serve on the Development Committee for the Foundation. Dr. Albertson resides in Berwick with his wife Lois and his family.   

Timothy Apple

Tim is the Director of Sales at Bimbo Bakeries USA located in Sunbury. After receiving his foundation from the Lewisburg School District, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Shippensburg University.  He is a member of the Pennsylvania Baker’s Association, the Green Dragon Foundation, and serves on the Board of Evangelical Hospital and Northumberland National Bank.  His previous community work included serving on the Union County United Way Board.  Tim was appointed to the Foundation Board in 2013 and lends his expertise to the Governance Committee. Tim resides in Lewisburg with his wife Carol and his family.

Christina Bason

Christina is the Business Administrator for the Berwick Area School District.  After receiving her foundation from Central Columbia School District, she obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Bloomsburg University and was awarded her Master of Education Degree in School Business Leadership from Wilkes University.  Christina has a passion for animals and is currently a board member with the Animal Resource Center.  She also sits on the School Employees Health and Welfare Trust, and previously served as a board member with the Berwick Theater and Center for Community Arts.  She was recently appointed to serve as a new board member with the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation.  Her expertise will be used as she serves on the Berwick Health & Wellness Advisory Committee and the Finance Committee. Christina resides in Nescopeck with her husband Paul and their family.

James H. Brucker, PhD

Dr. Brucker is the Vice President of Philanthropy at Geisinger Health System. He most recently served at the University of Chicago as Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs and Development for the Booth School of Business. Previously, he held the positions of Executive Director of the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, and Director of Development for Health Affairs, Penn State University. Dr. Brucker’s programs have been awarded a Gold Medal from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and he has also been chosen to serve as chair for the Group on Institutional Advancement of the Association of American Medical Colleges. He is currently on the Board of the Central Susquehanna United Way. He was newly appointed to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation and will serve on the Development Committee. He currently resides in Lewisburg with his wife Judi.

Paul R. Eyerly, IV

Paul is the President of Press Enterprise, Inc., located in Bloomsburg.  He attended Washington and Lee University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy after getting his foundation from the Central Columbia School District.  He then furthered his education pursuing a law degree and graduated from the Golden Gate School of Law.   He recently served on the Board of the United Way of Columbia County and the Columbia Montour Chamber of Commerce (CMCC) Board.  He is currently serving on the CMCC & CMVB Partnership Board/ Printers Forum Inc. and also the Scott Township Supervisor where he will serve as Chairman.  Paul was recently appointed to serve as a Director on the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation Board where he will use his expertise on the Finance Committee. Paul resides in Bloomsburg with his wife Donna and their family.

Peggy Fullmer

Peggy is the Vice President/CEO/CFO at the Milton Savings Bank where she has spent her banking career. She received her educational foundation from the Milton Area School District.  She is a board member for the PA Association of Community Bankers and is involved with the Milton Rotary Organization.  In the most recent past, she served on the Chamber of Commerce Board.  She was appointed to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation Board in 2015 and currently serves on the Audit Committee. Peggy resides in Milton with her husband Gary and their family.

John M. Kurelja, Ed.D.

Dr. Kurelja currently serves as the Superintendent for the Warrior Run School District.  He attended Rutgers University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and then pursued his graduate degree at Penn State University receiving a Master of Art Degree in Education Leadership.  John was recently appointed to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation Board.  He will serve on the Development Committee.  
John resides in Bloomsburg with his wife Jackie and their family.

Nancy Marr

Nancy is the President and Owner of Marr Development, Inc., a commercial, residential, and government real estate office. She attended Penn State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.  Nancy also received a full academic scholarship to Harvard and received a Master of Science degree in Health Policy & Management.  She is also a certified public accountant.  She is the Treasurer for the Columbia County Industrial Development Authority; Advisory Board member for First Keystone Community Bank- Danville-Bloomsburg; and a member of the Berwick Borough Landlord Ordinance Appeals Board. Nancy resides in Turbotville with her husband John.

Matthew P. Prosseda

Matt is the President and CEO of the First Keystone Community Bank, headquartered in Berwick.  After receiving his diploma from the Berwick Area School District, he attended The Pennsylvania State University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He received an MBA from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He is on the Board of Directors for DRIVE (Driving Real Innovation for a Vibrant Economy) and serves on the Board of Directors for the Columbia Alliance for Economic Development.  Matt serves as the President of the Berwick Chapter of UNICO National and as the Treasurer for the Columbia-Montour Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He served previously on the Board of Directors of the PA Bankers’ Association.  Matthew was recently appointed to serve as a Director for the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation where he will share his expertise on Finance and Audit. Matt resides in Orangeville with his wife Cindy.

Heather Rowe

Heather is the Secretary/Treasurer at Penn Fire Protection, Inc., a family owned business, located in Selinsgrove.  Rowe obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance/Business Administration from Susquehanna University after receiving her educational foundation at the Line Mountain School District.  She currently serves as the President of the Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation and Vice President of the Snyder County Library Board.  She was newly appointed to the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation and will serve on the Development Committee. Heather resides in Selinsgrove with her husband Donald and family.

Rhonda Jeanne Seebold

Rhonda is an Assistant Professor at the Pennsylvania College of Technology located in Williamsport. She attended Bloomsburg State College earning her Bachelor of Science Degree and then earned her Master of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina.    She is currently a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association; the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists’ Association; Treasurer of the North Central Dental Hygienists’ Association; Academy of Dental Hygiene Studies; and Faculty Advisor- Student American Dental Hygienists’ Association.  She is currently on the Board of Deacons at Grove Presbyterian Church; Board member; Advisory Committee of Young Life Danville Chapter. Rhonda was appointed to the Board of Director for the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation in 2012. She lends her expertise on the Development Committee.  She resides in Danville with husband Robert and family.

J. Donald Steele, Jr.

Don Steele is the Chairman, President & CEO at The Northumberland National Bank.  He obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree from Susquehanna University after receiving his diploma from Shikellamy Area School District.   Don is currently the treasurer of the Green Dragon Foundation, board member of the Sunbury Area Community Foundation and Evangelical Community Hospital, and is the treasurer for the Lewisburg Mat Backers.  He has been a member of the Central Susquehanna Community Foundation since 2011 where he serves on Governance and Finance Committees.  He currently chairs the Audit Committee for the Foundation.  He has been awarded the Adam Smith Honor, Distinguish Citizen Award and the Pat Toole Award. Don currently lives in Lewisburg with his wife Joanne and their family.

Connie Louise Tressler

Connie is a retired Clinical and Child Psychologist; she practiced many years in the Northern Tier.  After receiving her educational foundation from Mahanoy Joint School District, she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Bucknell University and her Master of Science Degree from The University of PA, Philadelphia.  She is involved with the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the Board of Northumberland County Behavioral Health/Individual Differences (MH/MR).  Connie is the President of the Bucknell University Alumni Board; President of the Board of the Northumberland County Historical Society; Board member of the Susquehanna River Valley Visitors Bureau; Diakon (Tressler Lutheran Social Services); Buffalo Valley Village Foster Care and Adoption, Allentown; and board member of Children Services Center. She has received the Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries Servants Heart Award.
Connie resides in Herndon and enjoys hosting family events.
